Public Index is a free platform for personal, non-commercial use. You may not reproduce, distribute or commercially exploit any content from the platform without our written permission.

You must be 13 years or older to use Public Index. If you are under 18, you should have a parent or guardian review these terms.

Every building experience on Public Index is built from a curated, verified knowledge base. We take accuracy seriously but we cannot guarantee that all information is complete or error-free. Content should not be relied upon for professional, academic or legal purposes.

The AI question interface responds only from the verified knowledge base for each building. It does not generate information beyond what we have researched and confirmed. Where something is unknown or uncertain, the platform says so.

If you submit questions, feedback or any other content through the platform, you grant Public Index a non-exclusive licence to use that content to improve the platform and its knowledge bases.

Your use of Public Index generates engagement data including session behaviour, questions asked and time spent with each building. This data is used to improve the platform and, in aggregated and anonymised form, to provide intelligence to our B2B partners. Individual user data is never sold or shared with third parties in identifiable form.

All content on Public Index, including building knowledge bases, audio, editorial copy and the Public Index name and identity, is owned by Public Index Pty Ltd or licensed to us. Nothing on the platform transfers any intellectual property rights to you.

Some buildings on Public Index are owned or managed by third party organisations. We do our best to ensure accuracy but we are not responsible for changes those organisations make to their buildings, opening hours, access arrangements or any other operational details.

Public Index is provided as is. To the extent permitted by Australian law, we exclude all warranties and limit our liability for any loss or damage arising from your use of the platform. Nothing in these terms excludes rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot be excluded.

We may update these terms from time to time. We will note the date of the last update at the top of this page. Continued use of the platform after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
